Keane-esque Print

Note: this piece is not entirely my own as I got the horses in water concept and style from Keane's Under the Iron Sea album. To see the similarities and differences, look it up online.

Unlike the Keane album cover, I made the waves look more Far Eastern in style, and the rising sun over the sea adds to that effect. I did not copy the horses, but they look similar. All of this was done by hand using the Keane album as a sight ref. Then I colored penciled it, to get the general colors down. Then I scanned it into PhotoShop, painted everything over by hand and WACOM pen, refined it, then printed it all out.

I was going to use this for an AP Art project, and was going to carve this onto a linoleum block to print...but then I realized I would have to cut and paint over 12 layers...which would take at least 12 whole days for the paint layers to dry...not to mention the time carving would take...so...no.

Hope you all like it, it's not original I admit, but I only used the album as a sight ref, the rest I did myself.
